He's here! He finally arrived!
This is my great nephew! He's brand new right out of the box! It was a difficult delivery, but mommy and baby are both doing great.
Last night Sara had texted me to say that her water had broke. As it turned out, it was only leaking, but since she was having some contractions, the doctor told her to go to the hospital. By that time she was already 5 cm dialated so they said she should stay.
At 6:30 this morning, after a long night of contractions starting and stopping, they finally induced labor hoping the baby would continue on the path of delivery. Of course he had other things in mind. Apparently he was quite comfy where he was and didn't want to come out. He was still very high and not turned quite right so they attempted to coax him out, but he wasn't having any of that! After several hours of hard pushing and labor, the doctors decided to do an emergency C section. Baby couldn't say no to that and out he came. He has 5 fingers on each hand, ten toes, and passed all the tests they threw at him. He came out at a whopping 8 pounds 10 ounces. He was a little early (her actual delivery date was March 4) so they took him to intensive care for observation. Overall he looks healthy and appears to be in great shape. He does have a small abrasion on his head from where they were trying to turn him for natural delivery, but other than that, all is well.
Sara is doing well but quite tired. I'm told she did her best to push him out, but you know how men are...stubborn! Even in the womb!
But we've been patiently waiting for him to arrive and he's finally here. We couldn't be more excited about it!
To top it all off, today would have been my Uncle Jack's birthday. I told Sara that it's a sign from above that Jack was born today and that he should be named Jack. She and Aaron however have other plans for the name and it's not Jack. Call him what you want, I'm calling him Jack!
So baby May has finally joined the rest of us in the outside world! Happy birthday baby Jack!

Happy birthday, Jack!
Congratulations to Mom and Dad, and especially to Aunt Maura. I have a feeling Jack is going to be one spoiled, but much loved, young man.
It was a long and painful 22 hours for mommy, but she was a trooper! I asked if she would be having any more children. Well, you can probably GUESS what her answer was!
I was so thrilled to be with her, right thru the delivery. This grandma was the first one to see his little head pop out. There is nothing more awesome in the world, then to witness God's creation making a grand entrance, and it happens to be your grandson! I'm still flying high on the adreneline!
What a wonderful day that was. I can't say I'd do it all over again....but I might start with the part when he came out and go from there :) Can't wait for you to meet Camron :)
